Ganesha, the master of troops, the relative of the helpless, whose temple looks beautiful with vermillion, who stands as a huge staff, being the destroyer of calamities and who is worshipped by a troop of Gods like Indra.
Ganesh, Ganapati or Vighnaharta is a much beloved God from the Hindu pantheon. Praying to him helps overcome obstacles, he grants intelligence and his blessings to all his devotees. His vaahan is mooshak and his favourite sweet is the modak. Son of Bhagwan Shiva and Devi Parvati all important and auspicious tasks are started by invoking him and seeking his blessings.

पार्वतीनन्दनायैव देवानां पालकाय ते।
सर्वेषां पूज्यदेहाय गणेशाय नमो नमः॥
pārvatīnandanāyaiva devānāṃ pālakāya te।
sarveṣāṃ pūjyadehāya gaṇeśāya namo namaḥ॥
Obeisance to Ganesha, who pleases Parvati, who protects Gods and who is worshipped by all.
जो देवी पार्वती को आनन्दित करने वाले, देवताओं के रक्षक हैं और जिन की मूर्ति सब के लिए पूजनीय है, उन भगवान गणेश को नमस्कार है ।
आवाहये तं गणराजदेवं रक्तोत्पलाभासमशेषवन्द्यम्।
विघ्नान्तकं विघ्नहरं गणेशं भजामि रौद्रं सहितं च सिद्धया॥
āvāhaye taṃ gaṇarājadevaṃ raktotpalābhāsamaśeṣavandyam।
vighnāntakaṃ vighnaharaṃ gaṇeśaṃ bhajāmi raudraṃ sahitaṃ ca siddhayā॥
I invite and worship Shri Ganesha, who is the master of troops, who has the complexion like red lotus, who is saluted by all, who is the destroyer of calamities and the son of Rudra, along with Siddhi.
जो देवताओं के गण के राजा हैं, लाल कमल के समान जिनके देह की आभा है, जो सबके वन्दनीय हैं, विघ्न के काल हैं, विघ्नों को हरनेवाले हैं, शिवजी के पुत्र हैं, उन गणेशजी का मैं सिद्धि के साथ आवाहन और भजन करता/ करती हूँ ।
तमोयोगिनं रुद्ररूपं त्रिनेत्रं जगद्धारकं तारकं ज्ञानहेतुम्।
अनेकागमैः स्वं जनं बोधयन्तं सदा सर्वरूपं गणेशं नमामः॥
tamoyoginaṃ rudrarūpaṃ trinetraṃ jagaddhārakaṃ tārakaṃ jñānahetum।
anekāgamaiḥ svaṃ janaṃ bodhayantaṃ sadā sarvarūpaṃ gaṇeśaṃ namāmaḥ॥
We bow down to three-eyed Ganesha, who observes fierce form due to tamoguna, who is the protector and support of the world, who always gives knowledge to his devotees through Vedic words, observing all forms.
जो तमो गुण के सम्पर्क से रुद्ररूप धारण करते हैं, जिनके तीन नेत्र हैं, जो जगत् के धारक, तारक और ज्ञान के हेतु हैं तथा जो अनेक आगमोक्त वचनों द्वारा अपने भक्तजनों को सदा तत्त्वज्ञानोपदेश देते रहते हैं, उन सर्वरूप गणेश को हम नमस्कार करते हैं ।
सर्वशक्तिमयं देवं सर्वरूपधरं विभुम्।
सर्वविद्याप्रवक्तारं मयूरेशं नमाम्यहम्॥
sarvaśaktimayaṃ devaṃ sarvarūpadharaṃ vibhum।
sarvavidyāpravaktāraṃ mayūreśaṃ namāmyaham॥
I bow down to bhagavan Mayuresha Ganesha, who is all-powerful, all-pervading, who observes all forms and imparts all knowledge.
जो सर्वशक्तिमय, सर्वरूपधारी, सर्वव्यापक और सारी विद्याओं के प्रवक्ता हैं, उन भगवान् मयूरेश गणेश को मैं प्रणाम करता/ करती हूँ ।
गजाननाय पूर्णाय साङ्ख्यरूपमयाय ते।
विदेहेन च सर्वत्र संस्थिताय नमो नमः॥
gajānanāya pūrṇāya sāṅkhyarūpamayāya te।
videhena ca sarvatra saṃsthitāya namo namaḥ॥
I bow down to Ganesha, who is elephant-faced, complete, observing the form of knowledge. He is present everywhere formlessly.
हे गणेश्वर ! आप गज के समान मुख धारण करने वाले, पूर्ण परमात्मा और ज्ञानस्वरूप हैं । आप निराकार रूप से सर्वत्र विद्यमान हैं, आपको नमस्कार है ।
अमेयाय च हेरम्ब परशुधारकाय ते।
मूषकवाहनायैव विश्वेशाय नमो नमः॥
ameyāya ca heramba paraśudhārakāya te।
mūṣakavāhanāyaiva viśveśāya namo namaḥ॥
Obeisance to the immeasurable Heramba, who holds an axe, who has a mouse for his vehicle and who is the master of the world.
हे हेरम्ब ! आपको किन्ही प्रमाणों द्वारा मापा नहीं जा सकता, आप परशु धारण करने वाले हैं, आपका वाहन मूषक है। आप विश्वेश्वर को बारम्बार नमस्कार है ।
प्रातः स्मरामि गणनाथमनाथबन्धुं सिन्दूरपूरपरिशोभितगण्डयुग्मम्।
उद्दण्डविघ्नपरिखण्डनचण्डदण्डम् आखण्डलादिसुरनायकवृन्दवन्द्यम्॥
prātaḥ smarāmi gaṇanāthamanāthabandhuṃ sindūrapūrapariśobhitagaṇḍayugmam।

भक्तावासं स्मरेन्नित्यम् आयुःकामार्थसिद्धये॥

praṇamya śirasā devaṃ gaurīputraṃ vināyakam।

One should bow down the head to Bhagavan Vinayaka (Ganesha), who is the son of Parvati, residing in the heart of devotees and should always meditate upon him for health, wealth, fulfilment of wishes and success.
गौरी के पुत्र भगवान विनायक, जो भक्तों के मन में रहते हैं, उन के सामने सर झुका कर आयु, इच्छा, धन और सफलता के लिए नित्य स्मरण करें।

I bow down at the lotus-like feet of the master of calamities, Bhagavan Ganesha who has an elephant head, who is attended by the band of his followers, who eats his favorite wood-apple and rose-apple fruits, who is the son of Goddess Uma (Parvati), who is the cause of the destruction of all sorrow.
हाथी के मुख वाले, भूतगणों से सेवित, कवठ और जामुन फलों का सार भक्षण करने वाले, पार्वती के पुत्र, शोक के विनाश के कारणस्वरूप. विघ्नों के स्वामी के कमल जैसे पैरों पर मैं नमस्कार करता/ करती हूं।
अभीप्सितार्थसिद्ध्यर्थं पूजितो यः सुरासुरैः।
सर्वविघ्नहरस्तस्मै गणाधिपतये नमः॥

abhīpsitārthasiddhyarthaṃ pūjito yaḥ surāsuraiḥ।
sarvavighnaharastasmai gaṇādhipataye namaḥ॥

Obeisance to Bhagavan Ganesha who removes all obstacles and is worshipped by the gods and the demons for fulfilling their desires.
देव और दानवों ने अपनी इच्छापूर्ति के लिए जिसे पूजा है, सभी संकटों का नाश करने वाले उस गणों के स्वामी को नमस्कार ।
गजवक्त्रं सुरश्रेष्ठं कर्णचामरभूषितम्।
पाशाङ्कुशधरं देवं वन्देऽहं गणनायकम्॥

gajavaktraṃ suraśreṣṭhaṃ karṇacāmarabhūṣitam।
pāśāṅkuśadharaṃ devaṃ vande'haṃ gaṇanāyakam॥

I bow before the elephant-headed God who is the leader of Shiva's troops, who is supreme among the deities, who sports ears that look like fans and who is armed with a noose and goad.
हाथी के मुख वाले, देवों में श्रेष्ठ, चामर जैसे कानों से भूषित, पाश और अंकुश को धारण करने वाले, गणों के नायक भगवान को मैं नमस्कार करता/ करती हूं।
गणेश गायत्री मन्त्र
ॐ एकदन्ताय विद्महे वक्रतुण्डाय धीमहि।
तन्नो दन्ती प्रचोदयात्॥
तन्नो दन्ती प्रचोदयात्॥
oṃ ekadantāya vidmahe vakratuṇḍāya dhīmahi।
tanno dantī pracodayāt॥

Om, May we know the one with a single tusk. May we meditate on one with a crooked face. May Bhagavan Ganesha, having a tusk, inspire us.
एक दांत वाले भगवान को हम जाने, वक्र मुंह वाले भगवान का ध्यान करें। भगवान गणेश, जिनका एक दांत है, हमें प्रेरणा दे।
सुदूर्वाङ्कुरै रक्तपुष्पैर्लसन्तं
सदा मोदकैर्मोदमानं गजास्यम्।
शमीपत्रतुष्टं सुगन्धप्रियं त्वां
भवाम्भोधिमग्नो भवन्तं भजेऽहम्॥
सदा मोदकैर्मोदमानं गजास्यम्।
शमीपत्रतुष्टं सुगन्धप्रियं त्वां
भवाम्भोधिमग्नो भवन्तं भजेऽहम्॥
sudūrvāṅkurai raktapuṣpairlasantaṃ

bhavāmbhodhimagno bhavantaṃ bhaje'ham॥
I, who is engrossed in the ocean of existence, worship you, who is decorated by Durva grass and red flowers, having elephant head, always pleasing with Modaks, happy with the offering of Shami leaves, who likes fragrance.
दुर्वांकुर तथा लाल फूलों से सुशोभित, मोदकों से सदा आनंदित होने वाले, शमी के पत्तों से संतुष्ट होने वाले, सुगंध पसंद करने वाले गजमुख तुम्हें, इस भवसागर में डूबा हुआ मैं भजता हूं।

Obeisance to you, O Vinayaka, having one tooth, who is the writer of Mahabharata narrated by sage Vyasa, who is bowed down to at the beginning of studies and who is the controller of troubles.
हे विनायक, एकदंत, भगवान व्यास ने बताए महाभारत के लेखक, विद्या के आरंभ में जिसे नमन किया जाता है, उस विघ्नेश्वर को प्रणाम।
